Basic Computing for Beginners

4 hours tuition - £108

Suitable for those wishing to use a computer for the first time, this course is particularly popular with older people. Learning can be split into 4 x 1 hour, or 2 x 2 hours, or a block of 4 hours. Where feasible, this includes a set of written notes taken during your lesson. Topics covered:-

• The basics: from turning the computer on / off to using a mouse and keyboard
• Introduction to the Start Menu / Start Button
• What are windows, files and folders?
• The Desktop, icons, taskbar etc.
• Customising your computer
• What is a USB drive and where do CDs go?
• Avoiding computer viruses, trojans and online scams
