What information is being collected?
The personal information we collect might include your name, address, telephone number and email address. Via Google Analytics we may collect information on which pages of our website you visit, your IP addresses, the type of browser you use and the times you access our website.
How is your information collected?
M35 Web Design is committed to handling your customer information with high standards of information security. Information may be collected via any website form that you fill out, from an email or letter you send us, via a telephone conversation, Skype, web chat, or face to face meeting.
When you browse our website we take steps to ensure your safety. When you are on a secure page within our site, a padlock icon will appear next to the page URL (www address) in web browsers such as Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. However, if you fill out a website contact form, or email us, the information you send is transmitted normally (insecurely) over the internet, and this cannot be guaranteed as 100% secure.
Your information might be routed via a few countries before it gets to its destination, even if the recipient is ‘just around the corner’ from you. If someone gets into your emails or intercepts them without your permission and, as a result, your personal information is shared publicly, we cannot accept responsibility. This is out of our control as this is the way the internet works.
Whilst we strive to protect your personal information, as outlined above we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and therefore you do so at your own risk. However, once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
If we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our website, you are responsible for choosing a secure password and for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone.
Why is your information being collected and how will it be used?
We use your personal information to:
Provide you with products and services and to manage your account with us.
Or for us to:
Tell you about relevant products, services and information that we think you might be interested in; also essential website security information and news, or price changes etc. This contact might be by phone, post, email, text, picture message, or other ways.
Generally, users cannot opt out of these communications, but this contact will be primarily informational in nature rather than promotional.
In order to provide and oversee our services to you, we don’t collect any personal data from you that we do not need.
All the personal data we process is processed by M35 Web Design’s staff in the UK for the purposes of administering the services and products you want us to provide you with.
Who will information be shared with?
We authorise access to personal information only for those employees and work colleagues who require it to fulfil their job responsibilities. We may also need to share your contact details with any other third parties who provide us with web services by carrying out specialist work on our behalf.
Your information will not be shared with any third parties unless you instruct us to provide you with specialist products or services that we cannot provide ourselves. For example, to enable us to register a domain name or other web product on your behalf we are obligated to share your basic contact details – name, address, email, telephone number – with third party companies.
We might also be obliged to share your information:
- With any public authority or law enforcement agency (if they ask for it)
- To comply with law or regulations, or for possible legal proceedings
- If you give us personal information that’s wrong or we find out (or think) you’re responsible for fraud
How long we keep your information
We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years, after which time it will be destroyed.
What are your rights?
If, at any time you believe the information we process on you is incorrect, you can request to see this information, and even have it corrected or deleted.
If you wish to raise a complaint on how M35 Web Design has handled your personal data, you can contact us and we will investigate the matter.
If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
