Domain Name Registration & Management

Plans and Pricing

When you register any domain name it is important to understand that you do not ‘own’ that domain name. The domain name will be registered to you for a period of one or more years, after which you will have the opportunity to renew it for a further period of time. We offer affordable domain name registration and management.

N.B. a domain name registration on its own does NOT include any web hosting or email services. For details of this please click here.

Domain name registration prices are as follows:

Domain Name Renewals

Our default domain name renewals are automatic, so you never need to worry about your domains expiring, which is perfect if you have multiple domain names to keep track of.

Unlike many other companies, when we register domain names we always put you, the customer, as the legal Registrant, NOT us. Also, there are no penalty clauses if you want to move your name away from us. The only time there is an issue is if you want to move your domain name away from us within 60 days of its expiration/renewal, in which case the domain name move must either be done before the 60 day period starts, or afterwards.

Please note that we can also extend your domain registration periods for longer than 1 or 2 years.

What Our Customers Are Saying

Don’t just take it from us, let our customers do the talking!

“You have been our official website consultant for over two years and I thought it was high time we officially acknowledged your excellent work.

You have guided us re improvements to our website design but most notably have helped us achieve excellent and sometimes stunning results in our generic listings with search engines and the Google PPC campaign. The PPC campaign has undoubtedly been a great success for our business and has helped us to extend our reach to potential customers. Apart from a higher number of hits from more obvious markets such as the UK and the USA you should know we have engaged in new business as a direct result of the PPC campaign with clients from Romania, Bulgaria, Indonesia and several other countries.

Once again thank you for your assistance; I cannot imagine where we would be now without your expertise!”

“M35 took our old “home-made” website and produced a simple-to-use, visually attractive website that has had a major impact on the number of visitors to our site. “

David Rowe

Director, Riverside Aromatics

“We were really pleased with M35’s professional approach, which combined exactly the right mix of guiding and advising us, along with listening to our expectations for the site. All website design requires active involvement from the client for it to be successful, and M35 were a pleasure to work with.”

Domain Names – Frequently Asked Questions

What is a domain name?

A domain name is a human-friendly form of internet address, and is commonly used to find web sites. For example, bbc.co.uk for the BBC website.

How many domains can I register?

You can register as many domains as you want, but we usually recommend just the .co.uk and .com versions. Remember that multiple registrations result in a greater cost!

How long do domain name registrations last?

We usually register domains  for you for two years, but we can register a domain name for you for up to ten years at a time.

I don't know what domain name to choose. Can you help?

We can advise on a suitable domain name for your business. Also tell you if the name you would like has already been registered.

Are there any restrictions on who can register a domain name?

There are some restrictions with regards to domain names on who can register them. We can advise on this when you register your domain.

What details do you need to register a domain name?

A co.uk domain name needs to be registered in someone’s name (‘the Registrant’), so we will need a name, company address and contact details – phone, email.

The same information as above is needed for other types of domain (e.g. .com. .net etc.).

How long does it take to register a domain name?

During the working week we can normally register domain names within a few hours, and they will be active within 24 hours. It may take up to 24 hours before your domain is fully visible on the Internet and that will only happen if you have a website (or a web hosting package) with that domain name.

Can I transfer my domain to you from another provider?

Yes, you can transfer a domain name for us to administer. Normally there is no cost although, in some cases, there may be a renewal cost for the domain when it transfers.

Do you charge if I want to transfer my domain away from you?

Not normally, but if there is a lot of administration involved then we will have to make a charge. Sometimes domain transfers (either in or out) are not easy and can involve an awful lot of man hours!

Why do some domain names e.g. .com .net and .org cost more than .co.uk to register?

.com .net and.org domain names (i.e. non uk domain names) are registered through different registrars, and thus they charge different prices.

Why do you charge more to register a domain than some companies I've seen?

Some companies offer domain name registrations for ‘peanuts’. However, proceed with caution as many only offer basic technical support, whereby you submit a ticket via their website and wait for them to reply. And wait! They may also be located overseas, so there will be a time difference to take into account. With such companies it’s quite common to wait 24-48 hours for a reply from their technical support department, and then you reply and they reply and so on….

Also there may be hidden fees for things like transferring your domain name to them, or away from them.

We offer domain name registrations at realistic yet competitive prices, and we use a hosting company that is located in the UK and available to speak to us on the telephone should there be a problem.
