Password management firm, SplashData, has revealed twenty-five of the most common passwords from the 3.3 million leaked online last year. The list mostly comprises passwords stolen in 2014 from users in North America and Western Europe.
At the top of the list for the second year running were the passwords 123456 and also the actual word password!
Football was tenth on the list and hockey, soccer and golf made the top one hundred. abc123 was at number 14 on the list.
Other passwords for 2014 included baseball, dragon, football, mustang, access, master, michael, superman, batman and 696969.
Other number-related passwords were 12345, 12345678, 1234567890, 1234, 1234567, 111111, 123123, while shadow, monkey and the phrases letmein and trustno1 were also on the list.
